Leave something good behind

Your love for animals lives on

By including Stichting Animal Protect in your will, you make sure that animals in need still get the help they need after your lifetime. A legacy is a calm, lasting form of protection for animals who have no one to fall back on.

“When I am gone, I want my love for animals to live on in the animals we are able to save. That is my real legacy.”

Examples

This is how you arrange a legacy

Draw it up yourself · codicil

Always discuss a codicil or a personal wish carefully and, if in doubt, have a lawyer check whether this form suits your situation.

We prefer to give a sample text personally, so that it matches the current legal situation and your wish.

Through a notary · clause

"If you want to include Stichting Animal Protect in your will, discuss with your notary which wording fits your wish and the formal details that are final at that moment."

The notary can include the right wording based on the formal details that apply at that time.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is a codicil legally valid?
Yes, a codicil is a fully valid addition to your will. It does have to be written entirely by hand and signed. Note: this does not apply to a prenuptial agreement.
Can I change a codicil?
Yes, you can always draw up a new codicil. The most recent one is the valid one. Do destroy the old one to avoid confusion.
Do I have to tell Stichting Animal Protect?
It is not required, but we would appreciate it very much. Then we can keep you informed about our work and you can see what your legacy means.
Is my legacy tax-deductible?
Our ANBI status has been applied for but has not been granted yet. So always take advice from a notary or a legal adviser about this as well.
What if I do not have a will yet?
Then you can have a notary draw up a will straight away, with a clause for us in it. A notary can advise you on the best options.
